Created the complete plant model for the motorcycle brake system considering suspension dynamics, sensor and modulator system delays, and simulated the closed loop system with various control algorithms. Developed algorithms for solenoid and motor control for adapting to various road conditions, and for estimating the vehicle speed based on input only from the wheel speed sensors. Developed control strategy for an optimized brake feel during the ABS operation. Developed a GUI interface for tuning control parameters on the fly. Developed the software code with MISRA-C compatibility and conducted tests on software from unit test level to vehicle level. Conducted these tests on multiple vehicles with ABS controllers and successfully evaluated all the proposed control algorithms. Interacted with various engineering teams for interfacing requirements/feedback, and also worked cooperatively with multiple consultants, to develop and take part in commercializing the product which is integrated into a mass-produced vehicle – TVS APACHE RTR 180 ABS.
